Overview
Once you have reached your weight loss goal, it is important to have a solid maintenance plan. After all, you have worked so hard to get healthy. The Medifast Weight Maintenance Plan is designed to help you stay at a healthy weight for the rest of your life.
The key to transitioning from the Medifast 5 and 1 Plan is to gradually increase your calorie intake over a period of 2-3 weeks. If you stop the 5 &1 plan suddenly, you may see a "rebound" weight gain. You want to give your body enough time to adapt to a higher calorie meal plan.

Maintenance
Day 17+: To maintain your new healthy weight, we recommend 1-3 Medifast meals daily, as meal replacements or snacks, in addition to a regular healthy diet. Many people who have successfully lost the weight and kept it off, continue to use Medifast on a regular basis. It is great for people on the "go."
Finally, don't forget about exercise. You should begin a moderately intense exercise routine - 5 days a week at 30 - 45 minutes should be sufficient. Remember, as with healthy eating, consistency is more important than intensity.
